Description

Perfect on its own, or try this dal over brown rice!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup red split lentils (I get it from Trader Joe’s)
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 15 Oz can of tomato sauce
  • ΒΌ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime (optional)
  • Salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

1. Put all ingredients in a pot on medium heat. Stir occasionally to avoid anything from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

2. Once boiling, reduce to low heat and cook for about 45 minutes to 60 minutes.

3. Once cooked it should be a thicker consistency.

4. Remove from heat. You can pour it over brown rice to eat OR just eat as is πŸ™‚
